Major Dejan Vuletic PhD, Assistant Professor at the Military Academy and researcher at the Strategic Research Institute of Serbian MoD, was attending the Course 'Cyber terrorism', held from 14th to 18th March 2011. The course was organized by the Centre of Excellence – Defence Against Terrorism in Ankara (Turkey) .
Within the course, among other issues, there were discussed about threats and vulnerabilities in cyber space, as well as ways how terrorists might use computer networks (Internet in the first place) to achieve their goals. The seminar was attended by 65 participants from 30 various countries. The lecturers were experts in field of cyber terrorism, coming from the USA, Turkey, Germany and Estonia.

Civil servant Milan S. Milutinović, Researcher trainee at the Strategic Assesments and Security integration Department of the Strategic Research Institute, was attending the Seminar on Transatlantic Civil Security (STACS 11-2). The seminar was held from 1st untill 18th February 2011, at the European Center for Security Studies 'George C. Marshall', in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany).
The Seminar which was attended by 37 officers and civil servants coming from 26 countries, provided civil security professionals from Europe, Eurasia and North America an in-depth look at how nations can effectively address domestic security issues that have regional and international impact. Best practices for ensuring civil security and preventing, preparing for and managing the consequences of domestic and regional crises and disasters were examined during the 3 weeks of education.

Acting SRI director Jovanka Saranovic, PhD, hosted on November 9, 2010 Portuguese delegation – rear admiral Anibal Hoze Ramos Borges, director of Center for Security and Defence Research and colonel Hoze Manuel Fereira Fanzeres, assistant director at National Defence Institute. At the meeting were present Head of Strategic Analysis and Security Integrations Department, Colonel Katarina Strbac, PhD, acting Head of Defence Studies Department, Colonel Nebojsa Nikolic, PhD and Head of Military History Department, Milan Terzic, PhD. During the meeting, after the presentations of research institutions, the possibilities and modalities of future cooperation were discussed. It was agreed researchers to be able to published research papers and results of research work in publications which are published by three institutes, as well as to widen the cooperation in the future.
